Bullying Prevention
Through Peer Leadership
Available for Booking
Throughout the School Year
This dynamic program empowers student leaders to take an active role in creating positive change in their school communities. Peer Leaders facilitate community building activities with younger students and engage in active dialogue about issues they face within their school. They then present a short scene that reaches a point of crisis and the younger students are invited to get involved. They discuss the inner thoughts and feelings of the characters, interview them and step into the scene to improvise different strategies for creating positive outcomes.
If you’re interested in the Peer Leadership Program, contact Karen Bain, Education Director, at karen@metroplays.org or 314.932.7414 x 110. (As our staff continues to work remotely, email is preferred.)
Unsure about how much time you can make for this in your classroom? Our residencies can be as few as five (60-minute) visits, or can be weekly visits made throughout an entire school year.
Many times assemblies are viewed by students, but are quietly forgotten. This is not the case with Metro Theater Company. Their work will have a definite, lasting impact, and is an example of how character education should be taught! — Cory Milles, Parkway South Middle School
Thank you for coming to our classroom, it showed me not to discredit someone… Be yourself and don’t try to be someone you are not. — 6th grade student, Parkway Northeast Middle School
