Kick off the school year with an evening of music, movement, and family fun at Metro Theater Company!
In partnership with St. Louis Magazine's Family Playdates series, we're turning our theater into the ultimate dance party for kids and their grown-ups. Join us on August 7 for a high-energy Back-to-School Rave featuring music from Spin Society DJs, snacks, and plenty of room to dance, play, and celebrate the end of summer.
Whether you're getting ready for preschool, kindergarten, or another exciting school year, this joyful event is the perfect way to make some memories before classes begin.
Recommended for: Families with young children and elementary-aged kids

Time: 4:30–6:30 PM
Parking: There is abundant metered parking in front of Metro Theater Company on Washington Ave. Free parking can be found on nearby side streets (Josephine Baker Blvd, Samuel Shepard Dr, and N Leonard Ave).
Entrance: Enter Metro Theater Company from Washington Ave, where you’ll see our sign. A staff member will greet you at the door, check in strollers or diaper bags, and guide you to the dance floor.

Bathrooms with changing tables
A quiet nursing area
A donation-based snack and beverage table
Attire: Wear whatever you like to dance in—costumes are always welcome but not required.
Music: Expect a DJ set filled with upbeat, family-friendly tracks designed for kids and grown-ups to enjoy together.
