Welcome to
Mindful Monday!

Today we are thinking about ways that people in our community have reached out to support one another while we shelter in place. There are lots of different ways to be a good friend to someone from both near and far away and our education team is sharing three book recommendations that show three unique ways you can be a friend!

Sometimes a friend cheers you up when you are having a bad day, like in Mo Willems's book Leonardo the Terrible Monster. Sometimes a friend stands up for others, like the titular character in Dr. Seuss's The Lorax. Sometimes a friend might even be a brother or sister, like in Madeline L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time.

Take some time today to think about how you have been a friend or how others have been a friend to you. Send us your comments to community@metroplays.org.
