A Christmas Carol

Join us for Metro Theater Company’s
2nd Annual All-St. Louis Holiday Reading of A Christmas Carol
By Charles Dickens
Tuesday, December 7, 2021
The Sheldon Concert Hall and Galleries

After ticket holders from 41 states and 6 countries enjoyed Metro Theater Company's virtual all-St. Louis reading of A Christmas Carol in 2020, MTC is bringing this one-of-a-kind event to life on stage at the Sheldon Concert Hall as an in-person fundraiser with COVID-safety protocols. All proceeds directly benefit MTC's mission of nurturing meaningful learning through the arts.

The 2nd Annual All-St. Louis Holiday Reading of A Christmas Carol features a new lineup of local and national St. Louisans, both in person and remotely, reading excerpts from Charles Dickens's timeless classic. At the live event on December 7, audiences can enjoy readings from Emmy nominee Ellie Kemper (joining live, virtually); Dr. Joseph Davis, superintendent of the Ferguson-Florissant School District; Vanessa Cooksey, CEO of the Regional Arts Commission; Jacqueline Thompson, director, actor, and Visionary Award-winner; Casey Nolen, anchor, reporter, and journalist for KSDK-TV/NBC St. Louis; Abby Llorico, multimedia reporter and podcast host for KSDK-TV; James Croft, Leader of the Ethical Society of Saint Louis; Michael Thanh Tran, actor and animator, and Terry Crow, mayor of University City. The live reading also features the incredible jazz vocalist Denise Thimes and musicians, as well as a quartet of Victorian carolers singing holiday favorites. Learn about our readers and performers here. Plus bid on exclusive auction items in our virtual auction through Dec 7!

As MTC’s holiday gift to you, a streaming version of this all-new reading will be available at no cost December 18-25 for families across our region and across the world to enjoy.

For the streaming broadcast that begins airing December 18, these readers will also be joined by a combination of new virtual celebrity readers – including Lt. Governor Michael Kehoe; Dr. Tim Eberlein, director of Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center; and others to be announced, and returning favorites from last year’s virtual event – including Drama Desk Award-winner Ken Page, St. Louis Post-Dispatch columnist and editor Aisha Sultan; and John Mozeliak, St. Louis Cardinals president of baseball operations.
